Annie Schwartz, MS, RD, LDN

Dietitian
She/Her

"I see and understand from lived experience how fat phobia and weight stigma harms all of us — how it disconnects us from our bodies and keeps us in our heads, worrying about food and our bodies often at the expense of our mental, emotional and physical health."

Annie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College where she majored in Psychology. She received her Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University where she also completed her Dietetic Internship. She is currently pursuing additional training to become a Certified Body Trust® Provider through BeNourished as well as to become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor from the Original Intuitive Eating Pros®.  Annie grew up and spent most of her life in New York City but now resides in the Berkshires of Massachusetts with her husband and two cats.

Annie came to this work through her own recovery from an eating disorder. She sees and understands from her own lived experience how fat phobia and weight stigma harms all of us — how it disconnects us from our bodies and keeps us in our heads, worrying about food and our bodies often at the expense of our mental, emotional and physical health.

Helping individuals feel more comfortable around food and in their bodies is immensely rewarding work for Annie. She greatly enjoys partnering with her clients to help them leverage their own internal wisdom and lived experience to reach their health goals.

Annie is a fat-positive, Health at Every Size (HAES)® aligned clinician. Annie employs a warm, empathetic approach in session, which is often also infused with some humor, when appropriate. Annie seeks to create a space where all bodies feel safe. She believes all bodies are good bodies that are worthy of kindness, respect, and equitable access to unbiased, appropriate and compassionate care.

In her free time, you’ll find Annie planning, planting, or tending to her vegetable garden, continuing to explore the Berkshires with her partner, cooking, baking, or relaxing in front of the TV catching up on her favorite reality TV shows.

Annie is a member of Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH) and the Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association (MEDA).
