Brittany Brown, LMHC

Brittany is a passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Clarkson University, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine.

Brittany has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to adult and adolescent clients with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. She creates a compassionate and safe space for individuals to share and process their emotions while facilitating the development of skills to improve distress tolerance, emotion regulation, self-esteem, self-compassion, and body-image.

Brittany is experienced in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Based Treatment (FBT) for the treatment of eating disorders in adolescents.  She has worked with clients at many stages of treatment including Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Outpatient level of care.

While in graduate school, Brittany completed a summer internship at Monte Nido and Affiliates: Eating Disorder Center of Boston Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), co-facilitating adolescent DBT groups and providing meal support and coaching during program meals. She also completed a year-long internship at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital where she co-facilitated DBT groups with adults, provided clinical case management, crisis management, and short-term treatment for individuals on a continuing care unit as well as a forensic evaluation unit at the inpatient level of care.

Post-graduate school, Brittany worked at Walden Behavioral Care in Dedham, MA facilitating DBT skills groups for adolescent and adult clients, providing meal support and coaching, and utilizing trauma-informed treatment to support the clients’ treatment and recovery.

Brittany is joining the Metrowest Nutrition and Therapy team from a non-profit outpatient organization, Neighborhood Counseling and Community Services (NCCS), where she provided outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults, facilitated a Connections/Processing group at the Next Wave/Full Circle school in Somerville, MA, and provided support and supervision to clinical interns.
