Bella Mortenson, MS, RD, LDN

Licensed Dietitian

“The cornerstone of my values is empathy. I have a desire to understand where people are coming from and to be compassionate in my care.”

Bella understands and appreciates that everyone has their own unique relationship with food. She works with clients to translate complex science into simple and relatable terms, while also cultivating a space for people to discover more confidence and peace with food. Bella approaches counseling through a Health at Every Size (HAES) lens and would like to make nutrition accessible to as many people as possible.

Bella earned her undergraduate degree in Communication from Fairfield University where she learned the fundamentals of communication and its impact on shaping society and relationships. She went on to complete her master’s degree in Nutrition Science at Framingham State University where she completed the Coordinated Program of Dietetics and gained invaluable experience in medical nutritional therapy.

In her free time, Bella enjoys testing out recipes with her sisters, exploring new cities, reading and rebelling against diet-culture whenever she can.

“Our daughter has really enjoyed working with Bella over the past few months- so much so that she inspired me to make the call and start seeing someone on my own for my own issues! Bella has been the motivation that our daughter has needed to actually make dietary changes. Before working with Bella, our daughter refused to make any changes to her eating habits, even though her medical specialists kept telling her how important it would be to make better food choices. Now our daughter goes to the grocery store with my husband every week to pick out nutritious foods! She is researching recipes online and is now cooking with my husband in the kitchen. She even eats salads now!!! Previously, she had eaten lettuce twice in 15 yrs. What an amazing change this has been for our daughter. Thank you to Bella for making a huge difference in her life.”
