Support Group for Neurodivergent Adults with ARFID
NEW group for Neurodivergent individuals with ARFID!
Join other Neurodivergent adults with ARFID for connection and support. We will provide a welcoming and validating space to build community for individuals who often feel isolated.
The group will be co-led by a Registered Dietitian and a Psychotherapist who are both experienced in eating disorders and neurodivergence. This is a space is for neurodivergent adults with ARFID to share common themes that come up around eating. Our goal is to help increase connection and decrease isolation. This is a space where neurodivergent individuals can unmask and truly be themselves.
The facilitators will guide and moderate discussion, create predictable expectations for the group and share resources relating to emerging themes.
Why did we decide to offer this group?
We developed this group based on an identified need in our client community. Nicole and Myrese identified some common themes among clients they shared and created this group to meet those needs. Some of the identified needs included:
- Individuals feeling isolated and lacking community
- Lack of opportunities for neurodivergent individuals with ARFID to connect with others who share their struggle
- Individuals getting stuck in their progress with ARFID-related goals and groups can be helpful
