FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Tatum McShane
Mental Health Counselor
She/Her

“I strive to help clients recognize themselves as the most powerful force in their healing journey.”
Tatum earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Stonehill College. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and families in individual and group settings, including at Child Therapy Boston, Riverside’s Life Skills program, and Walden Behavioral Care, where she supported adolescents in residential eating disorder treatment.
Tatum is passionate about helping adolescents and young adults build self-esteem, strengthen emotional awareness, develop coping skills, navigate relationships, and foster a healthier relationship with food, movement, and their bodies. She practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and trauma-informed perspective, integrating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Tatum believes a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of work, Tatum enjoys going to the beach, exploring new coffee shops, playing and watching soccer, running, strength training, and spending time with family and friends.
