Nina Sachs, LCSW

Licensed Social Worker
She/They

"I believe that curiosity, compassion, and connection are the foundation of meaningful change. My hope is to create a space where we can explore your relationships (with food, yourself, and others) together to facilitate healing."

Nina is a Licensed Social Worker who brings a diversity of clinical experience across multiple care settings, including higher levels of care for eating disorders and complex trauma, university counseling centers, and outpatient counseling in community mental health. She brings a lifelong curiosity about the challenges and triumphs that define our experience and feels privileged to walk alongside clients as they navigate their unique journeys. A Chicago native, Nina came to the Boston-area to complete a Master’s in Social Work at Boston College and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She works with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief and identity.

Nina integrates several evidence-based interventions, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into their practice. They also bring experience with several trauma-specific interventions, including a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Nina also practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective. Nina values collaboration, feedback, and connection in the therapeutic relationship to meet each person where they are. Nina believes that all clients bring wisdom and a capacity for healing to therapy and view their role as a guide in supporting clients to develop greater inner trust, safety, self-compassion, and balance. As part of the queer community, Nina welcomes opportunities to engage with other LGBTQIA+ folks and enjoys working with clients around various facets of identity.

Clients often come to therapy because there is something that feels out of balance in their lives and are seeking deeper understanding about feelings, thoughts, or behaviors that may be confusing or frustrating. Nina brings warmth, containment, curiosity and humor to the therapeutic relationship so that clients feel safe and empowered to work towards their goals.

Outside of work, you can find Nina baking up a storm, spending time in nature or with animals, and diving into whatever craft project has her attention at the moment (ceramics, lately!).
