FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Katie Elzer
Licensed Dietitian
She/Her
"I love helping clients build trust with their bodies through consistent nutrition and reclaiming a sense of curiosity around food. "
Katie was inspired to enter the field of nutrition after a family member had a positive experience with a Health At Every Size-aligned dietitian. She considers it a privilege to partner with clients as they work to support their well-being, improve their relationship with food, and address nutrition concerns.
Katie has a diverse set of experiences as a dietitian that allow her to be a compassionate and creative problem solver. Katie has extensive training in medical nutrition therapy (MNT), having been the primary dietitian for acute gastrointestinal and transplant units before transitioning to private practice where she helped clients improve their relationships with food and their bodies. She also worked in the renal nutrition setting, where she grew in her care coordination and MNT skills. She appreciates that each client brings their own context to each session, using motivational interviewing to focus on the areas of importance to the client. She believes wholeheartedly in fat acceptance and making the healthcare system a more equitable and just place for folks in all bodies to receive care.
Katie earned Bachelor’s degrees in Nutrition & Dietetics and Food & Resource Economics from the University of North Florida and University of Florida, respectively.
Katie grew up in Florida but calls Clinton, Massachusetts home where she loves to hike, sew, knit, read, and go on adventures with her dog, Daisy.
