Imari is an Afro-Latina born and raised in the south shore of Massachusetts. She received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Prior to joining Metrowest Nutrition, Imari was working as a Clinical Social Worker for Psychiatry Consultation Service at a Boston Children’s Hospital and continues to offer short-term therapy on a local college campus. Imari spent the past six years learning the mental health system in Massachusetts as well as honing her therapeutic skills through different levels of care. Imari has worked with all ages in school systems, psychiatric hospitals, eating disorder programs, and emergency psychiatry settings.
Imari has a passion for working with different ethnicities, cultures, and identities, especially with the LGBTQIA+ community. She has experience working with adolescents and adults in individual and group settings. Imari believes in meeting clients where they are at to facilitate growth and connection. She takes a strengths-based approach incorporating mindfulness practices and self-autonomy. She has experience in DBT, CBT, FBT, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy.
